Rachel Briggs
The Vibe Tribe
Rachel Briggs has worked diligently in education for nearly twenty years. She has been married to her husband Nathanial for 14 years. They have three vibrant daughters-9, 5, and 4. She is an avid reader, foodie and lover of quality time with friends. She is a Massachusetts native and is excited to now call the DMV home.
Her love for education was met with preparation at Spelman College, where she obtained her Bachelors of Arts in English, and Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
Her experience includes K-12 education in the private, public and charter school systems. She has served as a 6-11 grd teacher, 11th/12th grd College Counselor, a content area coach, an instructional coach for elementary and secondary schools and Principal in Residence. Her passion is for Middle School, particularly in the area of English/Language Arts. However, she has grown to love math, science, and social studies as well on a K-8 level. Rachel particularly enjoys the amalgamation of cross curricular content. The marrying of various subjects gives students a more well rounded and realistic educational experience. In her administrative roles she also encouraged the vertical alignment between various grade levels to improve content collaboration and cohesiveness in education for their students. Rachel believes that leadership should be based on mutual respect and lives by the motto, “Treat others the way you want to be treated” and “person before professional”. Each child is important and as educators we must embrace being a part of the “village” that helps to raise a child. As a IndigoWomen Alumnae Rachel Briggs is thrilled to be a part of The Vibe Tribe that will help other women be rebirthed, reset and renewed. It is so needed in order for us to thrive.
